World Environment Day – 2023 – “Beat Plastic Pollution”

The World Environment Day (WED) was established by United Nations General Assembly in 1972, to mark the opening of the Stockholm Conference on Human Environment. It encourages actions by governments, industries, community groups and individuals to improve the environment in which we live. It is celebrated worldwide, on 5th June, every year to raise awareness on environment and mobilise action for environment protection.
This year the theme of WED 2023 is “Beat Plastic Pollution”, which aims to focus on solutions to plastic pollution.
As has been our practice every year, Eka Infra celebrated “World Environment Day” campaign on 5th June 2023, at our Head Office and our project sites. Our main aim was to renew our commitment and awareness on the consumption of single-use plastic to protect our Earth/ Our Home. All our employees have taken the “Lifestyle for the Environment” pledge to consciously participate in taking up a positive environmental lifestyle, which includes long term environment friendly habits.

– Prevent pollution, minimize use of materials and energy and minimise waste generation by making use of recyclable or renewable resources where practicable.
– Establish a continual improvement program and encourage initiatives to enhance our environment performance.
– Increase environmental awareness and liaison amongst our employees and interested parties through their education and training and encourage them to adopt environmental standards and practices that at least match our own.
