Master Planning, Quality Audit and Construction Supervision Services for Refurbishment of Pavement and Associated Works (ICD, Panipat)

Continental Warehousing Corporation (Nhava Seva) Limited (CWCNSL) had appointed Eka Infra Consultants Private Limited (Eka Infra) for carrying out master planning, geotechnical investigation, assistance in non-destructive of the yard and other associated facilities, identify the reasons for the settlement and damages, suggest remedial measures, detailed design, bid assistance and construction supervision services.

The objective of the study was to revise the existing layout to cater to a revised cargo profile, conduct a quality audit of the facilities and provide designs for the remedial measures relating to yard pavements and other associated infrastructure. Eka Infra scope of work was as follows:

• Updating of the master plan basis the cargo profile provided by CWCNSL
• Prepare detailed specifications for surveys – geotechnical investigations and topography – and supervise the field activities basis the requirements under the contract
• Identify test locations and supervise the non-destructive testing of pavements, warehouse and building structures to quantify concrete quality
• Establish whether the damage was due to a combination of faulty design, sub-standard quality, and non-standard construction methodology by EPC contractor
• Suggest remedial measures and design the approved option along with tender documents, BoQ and tender drawings
• Construction supervision of the works with focussed assistance on health and safety, quality of works and certification of works

A team of professionals comprising of civil, structural, and geotechnical engineers with experience in the field of infrastructure construction helped in ensuring that the works have been completed in line with the standards prescribed by the Contract on 31st July 2020.
